Introduction

 
The original booklet was written in 1988 by Janet Archer, revised in 1993 and now re-edited to provide a web version.
For national information, details of officers, festival rules and a historical perspective of the Wheelchair Dance Association, please refer to the handbook which can be obtained on request.
Any of the regional and national officers will gladly answer any queries you may have about Wheelchair Dancing or the Association.

 

Some Definitions

Set Dances for teams of 6 or 8 dancers
These are dances which use set movements choreographed to one particular piece of music. Set dances are used for the Team Championship Sections of the competitive festivals. A wide variety of dances can be included in this section, e.g. those based on Country Dance style, sequence dances of the ballroom kind and dances set to popular pieces of music.
